Happy 4th!!

Yesterday consisted of the longest 4th of July I have ever EVER experienced. I woke up at 3am with Mom and Dad in Barcelona, caught a 6:15 plane to Munich, rushed to my next looong 11 hour flight to Denver, had time for dinner in Denver before I flew to PDX where Elizabeth picked me up at 4:30pm local time. So that's almost 24 hours of travel. Thank you to Michael Chrichton for writing such a thrilling book that I finished it during my travels. And thanks to Dad for lending it to me.

And then I took a wonderful shower back at home, was unsuccessful in finding an open Japanese restaurant for dinner, and then I took a nap before Michael picked me up for 4th of July festivities. You can see Henry and Tom in a mock-HarryPotter wand fight with the fireworks... It was great to see that old OES crowd, and I'm glad I have some time in Portland to connect with people before I head off to work.

I successfully recorded Wimbledon this morning, so I'll watch it later :-) It is still very weird to me that there wasn't a channel in Spain that showed it (local time!) but US channels always show it. Meh, whatever. As long as I get to watch the finals this weekend!! (Don't tell me who won, if you already know!!) The post office is closed this weekend, so I'll take care of errands on Monday.

Love to all!!

Glad you enjoyed the book. Lots of good new Scrabble words in that one. What would you have done with the parrot that didn't think of himself as a parrot?
