From Robyn's Side

Yesterday saw me waking up tired and alone, my wonderful host parents at work and out doing errands, and Maria at the "Peluqueria" (hair salon) finally getting her hair re-colored after complaining for several days of what happens to hair in the summer sun. I got a chance to read a little before family lunch, which of course consisted of lots of ham.
Being back in Zaragoza has been incredible so far, with lots of memories and sadness that this time I only get to stay for a mere ten days. I accompanied Maria to the doctor because her sun-burned legs had begun to swell and we picked up from the pharmacy the same medicines I had been prescribed when I had suffered from a similar problem a little more than a year before. Our excursion was followed by some wonderful helado/ice-cream before getting back indoors from the extreme heat to play Singstar like old times.
Later Maria and I went out with a few of her friends and we met up with one of my friends from my year abroad who is here for most of the summer. After a very late evening in the Spanish style, we woke up to a beautifully prepared table and a wonderful lunch with the grandparents and uncles. Content to stay indoors with air conditioning during the hot part of the day, we comfortably relaxed around the house during the siesta, me reading rather than sleeping, again, like old times.
I have every intention of later going out to enjoy Las Rebajas (huge seasonal sales when every store has every item on sale up to 50% off) with Maria before heading out for another exciting night on the town. I will try to update regularly but you know how the Spanish life can be... I may not get around to it! :-)

Best wishes to all!

We hope Maria's legs are feeling better. We've kept up the sun screen to make sure we don't suffer the same fate. LOTS of sun here, but JCK is still very white. Off to France, tomorrow.
